More possible copyright infringement[edit]
Hello again, It was me that pointed out to Calidore the copyright issue under your article for the Abyss. Looking through the entries for the other planes, I want you to review the images you uploaded and include in your articles for possible violations. Additionally, I don't know why I didn't think of this before but has the issue of copyright been brought up in regards to the default skin of the D&D Wiki? The background being from the PHB, of course. --Xenophon 16:06, 28 December 2006 (MST)
- First off, are all these images copyrighted? --Green Dragon 16:38, 28 December 2006 (MST)
- That's what I want to find out. I'm only 100% sure of the Abyss one as I was flipping through the Fiendish Codex II and I saw a picture that I thought looked familiar. Looking through the other atlas pages it looks like the images are probably of WotC stock but they are ones I am not familiar with. I need to do more research on fair use to determine what is acceptable in regards to images, --Xenophon 22:09, 28 December 2006 (MST)
- Okay. Thanks for doing that. Also, when you are done, please make sure to tell me here if the use of these images are acceptable. Thanks in advance. --Green Dragon 10:56, 29 December 2006 (MST)
- Still recovering from the holidays and it doesn't help I've moved offices and having to do a lot of training. Anyway, fair use doesn't cover it. Reproduction without consent is a no-no. Doesn't matter if it's on their website or you find it on some one else's. Hopefully we can bring some artists into the fold. I'm working on pictures for some of Calidore's stuff myself. Photoshop stuff, nothing hand drawn. Anyway, I've been taking creative commons & public domain stuff from Wikimedia Commons. We might find some items on there to use for pictures, or do like I do and manipulate them as to create the layer of fantasy seperation. I've also found a stock photo site where the artists give their works up freely or with some credit: stock.xchng --Xenophon 15:30, 11 January 2007 (MST)
- oke I'll remove the pictures at once --ymir02:11, 11 January 2007 (MST)
- Wikimedia Commons is a good place for images. We already have one image from them on this site. They work well. --Green Dragon 20:46, 11 January 2007 (MST)
