Q: Does the level 10 Arcane Shots feature's fire damage affect of creatures within 5 feet take 1/2 damage only apply to the bonus d8 per expended spell slot level or is it the total damage of the attack? And does the "creatures within 5 feet take 1/2 damage" apply to each target hit by the 20 foot cone of the Blunderbuss modification?

A: The blunderbuss modification is a change to the gun itself and therefore would originate from the gun, whereas the arcane shot is magic put into the bullet and would be affected from there. These 2 on top of each other would cause the damage to be doubled, but within 5 feet the entire damage is halved, meaning that since the overall damage is changed to fire damage all of the damage would be halved and not just the d8 of additional damage.
