There are already rules for barding in the SRD; see 5e SRD:Mounts and Vehicles. Perhaps this should be renamed to "Barding, Variant" or something similar?
Considering it automatically uses the rider's AC, it maybe even seems more like a magic item...- Guy 12:17, 20 August 2018 (MDT)
