Talk:Arm Guard (3.5e Equipment)
From D&D Wiki
Stat discrepancy[edit]
It started out giving +3 AC, then a bunch of anons screwed it around to +1 and now to +2. So which one is correct?
Unrealistic[edit]
The stats for an arm guard are unrealistic, and there is already an official version of this.
From Dragon Magazine Compendium, page 116

Clarification[edit]
For anyone who is interested or curious, this is known as a Manica. An Armguard might be confused with a Vanbracer, in which a gauntlet lacks hand protection; It only offers forearm protection.
Question on Donning[edit]
I know this ultimately falls to the DM, but I thought I'd ask; Rules on donning two of these?
Traditionally speaking they are worn on your swordarm as your shieldarm is already protected by the shield; Therefore only one.
Technically speaking, like gauntlets / vanguards, you CAN wear two; One on each arm.
Obviously wearing one on each arm would double your stats; +6 AC / 20% Arcane Failure (Or I would assume).
Any thoughts on this idea?
