Talk:Archblade (3.5e Prestige Class)

Rating[edit]
Power - 3/5 I give this class a 3 out of 5 because there are some really overpowered abilities:
Armor Born (Ex): This could be a problem. You can alternatively make it increase your max DEX bonus, and be repickable. The maximum bonus is there for a good reason, it is just too unbalanced to have full DEX to AC and wear armor.
Magic Breaker (Su): It looks good, except for the part you can parry beams. Well, there`s a reason some magic have resistance, some require touch attacks and some simply hit. If you can only parry weapon-like spells (like some Warmage spells) it`s ok, but not all kind of beams.
Perfection (Ex): You`re stepping on a dagerous ground over here. Fumbles are there because even the most skillful warrior have some bad luck moves sometimes, and criticals are there because even the worst fighter in the world can get lucky. They somehow balance each other and must co-exist. If you remove one, and make the other 100% sure, it`s unbalancing things.
Strike True (Ex): I don`t really like these. I guess that, as Perfection, should be removed and replaced by something different. The -5 penalty to attacks do reflects the loss of momentum the character has during the round, as described, but it also balances the game. The concept is perfect, but it really screw up the mechanic of the game. The monk had a reduced penalty, but it has changed to flurry for balance purposes. Now you give the player the option to take 2 levels and have reduced penalty and flurry attacks... I just don`t think it`s right. --ElfsMaster 00:15, 11 August 2009 (MDT)
Wording - 5/5 I give this class a 5 out of 5 because it`s very well written and with correct, easy to understand grammar. --ElfsMaster 00:15, 11 August 2009 (MDT)
Formatting - 5/5 I give this class a 5 out of 5 because it gas been formated correctly and using the templates. --ElfsMaster 00:15, 11 August 2009 (MDT)
Flavor - 4/5 I give this class a 4 out of 5 because it`s very well thought out. I really liked it, it`s creative and fills a role in the DnD world. It only lack an expanded "Archblades in the world" section. --ElfsMaster 00:15, 11 August 2009 (MDT)
fighter levels[edit]

Formatting - 5/5 I give this class a 5 out of 5 because the format looks correct and has everything I wanted to find. --216.145.194.175 23:23, 23 September 2010 (MDT)
Flavor - 5/5 I give this class a 5 out of 5 because though there are many weapon-based skill increasing prestige classes, none have the same flavor as this, to provide a similar aspect to physical combatants as archmages do for casters. --216.145.194.175 23:23, 23 September 2010 (MDT)
