Questions about what arcane absorption can absorb.
Do you gain an arcane point when affected by spells that say "choose" like Aid or Bless? We've been playing yes, so that our Anti-Mage has a consistent way to get at least some points even when we're not fighting casters.
What about a spell like Cloud of Daggers that effects an area with damage, but doesn't say "target" or require a saving throw? These circumstances are rare, I'd rule no arcane points for these (i.e. daggers are physical, just magically created :)
What about Beholder eye-rays or other magical effects that don't have spell levels? I'd rule yes (99% of the time).

Arcane absorption effect overlap suggestion.
The effects of Magical Ward and Spell Resilience seem to have a lot of overlap. Is Spell Resilience trying to say "advantage on a saving throw against ending the effects of a spell" ? It feels a little awkward to spend a reaction to, for example, gain advantage to break the effects of Hold Person on yourself on your own turn. If this is the case, then it would have a lot of overlap with Cleansing. If not, then Magical Ward is literally just a better version of it (spend an arcane point only when you fail a roll to try again vs. spend the point before the roll to gain advantage, and requiring a reaction).
May I suggest a change to differentiate the two and broaden the defensive options:
Spell Resilience: as a reaction, spend an arcane point to give yourself advantage on your next saving throw against a spell or its effects.
Magical Ward: as a reaction, spend an arcane point to give disadvantage on a spell attack roll targeting you.
