Talk:Anansi (5e Race)
The photo is not by "irlnasus", it's a photo by Lukas Jonaitis which is under copyright [1]. Please find an alternative. Marasmusine (talk) 02:07, 20 July 2015 (MDT)
How does a broodmother function as a player character? Do you have to be carried around? How are you expected to survive with half hit points and -2 AC? What do the eggs do? Does diplomacy do anything if no other Anansi are in the campaign, or are you reliant on the DM routinely putting Anansi NPCs in their game? Marasmusine (talk) 05:19, 29 March 2016 (MDT)
==G of T Says: "I like the idea, however its not logical for spiders to act in this way, Nor to have a non humanoid as a player character unless played as some sort of pet, or guardian."
Regardless we give it a 2/5 rating, as we like it overall. Some races wont even get our rating or attention. 1)copied from other source, inaccurate information if they say its based on tradition, blah etc. 2)if its just totally a wanna be bleh sad race. ) It goes without saying, 'we reserve the right to change our minds upon proof.'
We again thank the OP for the inspiration and encouragement of what we were going to add eventually anyway.==
I tried to modify some parts of the lore and to make it more mechanically sound. I think it may still be unbalanced, but I am too tired too think right now. Tell me what you guys think. Maybe I can finally bite people with a big, social spider. Mazhel (talk)
- Definitely an improvement, but it receives too many good traits atm so it'll need a nerf in that regard. —ConcealedLight (talk) 06:21, 2 March 2019 (MST)
- I reduced its jumping abilities, nerfed the poison and nerfed the weaver subrace. A jumping spider unable to climb walls, bite, poison, see in the dark and, you know, jump just did not feel right to me, so I just reduced its general power. Mazhel (talk)
Okay, I modified some little tweaks here and there. Can it get reviewed? Mazhel (talk)
- It's still pretty questionable. Maybe review the 5e Race Design Guide and give it another go, specifically the section on Do's and Don'ts. —ConcealedLight (talk) 21:39, 21 August 2019 (MDT)
