Needs Balance[edit]
While the traits themselves aren't inherently too bad, altogether this race plus subraces make this a little oppressive. I'd suggest altering Hawkeye to simply be proficiency and omit the rest. I'd recommend Perfect Landing reduce the damage similar to other race/classes that have a system of 1d10 + character/class level. No DM discretion needed and that would coincide with 1st party ideology. Are the talons necessary? While I tend to overlook them, others place a minor value to them and the talons could make or break whether this race is balanced. Considering subraces: the royal subrace gets 3 skills!? I'd limit subraces to one skill. There's a lot of value in skills. The royalty thing I am not a fan of, and the Birds of Feather I think needs expanding. It lacks flavor. The common one shares the same thing, Flock together. What is this about? Does the Royal and Glider not have hands since it is emphasized this has wings and hands?? The weaponry part is a mess. Moving and action to attack....everyone can do this, what is different about this? Why disadvantage? for an extra damage die? does this mean every attack is this way (disadvantage)? I am not sure why the Glider exists since it only restates the movement speed, says reduced fall damage but doesn't clarify, and has Pecking Order which like the other two, needs more flavor for the player to know what to do with this (in my opinion). The OP hasn't touched this since creation, and two others have contributed, but not in a balancing capacity. - Alright. I've reworked the Sub-races, added the third one, reworked the Lore a bit. Kept it vague so that it can be worked into almost any campaign. The Balance seems pretty good now, took out some of the stupid extra weapon die fluff. Generally made it easier to run. Apocalyptias 08:14, 6 March 2018 (MST)
- I think you made some really good edits. The reversal on the ability scores is interesting. In order to get away with it, might have to bring the core race ASI to just a +1. - That sounds like a fair change. Race ASI will be +1 Dex instead of +2, and that should give it a Musicus Meter of 5.5! Apocalyptias 10:55, 6 March 2018 (MST)
