Talk:5e Classes (Mobius)
Swift question - Has there been any thoughts for a Martial Class in this setting? I mean something like the Fighter or Barbarian. Heck even Ranger or Paladin all things considered. /DNDGuy3232
Not exactly, I have wanted to but I've been shooting blanks as far as that goes. I might have been able to pull something from the Sonic Fighters arcade game, but never played. Noy because I don't want to. I just never had gotten ahold of it. I have looked around here and there for something to take inspiration from, just struggling to find something solid to use. That's all. /Effingcrazygames
There was that sonic knight game for the wii that nobody played /vladulenta
True, you could even go into Sonic Rings/Knights as possible solutions. Sadly, on phone so I cannot give too much detail about potential classes. /DNDGuy3232
Welp folks - We could discuss more of this via another medium like Discord or something. That'd might allow us to get out more information and ideas faster. Overall - This Campaign Setting looks wicked. /DNDGuy3232
Remaking the Genius Class[edit]
So, for a bit now, I've been working on a new version of the genius class. The supplement has taken a different turn, and when I first made it, I was kind of new to the whole class building thing, and was too afraid of making them too strong. I ended up making them too weak instead. With the Speedster and the Explorer, it was a simple fix. Just change and add a few features. That was the purpose of the rocket accel, and the Explorer boundaries. The soldier and caster were kind of made after I got past that little funk of trying to hard to avoid "being broken," and even then I have some doubts about my Mobian soldier class, and I might buff some of the chaos maneuvers. With the Mobian Genius however, try as I might, there is no way I could find to fix that class without completely overhauling it, which is what I've been doing for a good bit.
Sort of "Mobian Genius 2.0" if you would. It's going to play a lot like the bard, letting you spend chaos points to add a die to checks, saves, and attacks, with the die growing as you level up. The main difference is going to be that 1: You can't add it to other people unless you pick the right subclass, and only add it to yourself instead, sort of the opposite of the Bardic inspiration. 2: Instead of it being limited by your modifier, it's going to cost chaos points to use.
Other than that, the genius is also going to have a little thing called, "Tactics." Kind of their version of chaos maneuvers, except more than just combat stuff. Though it was while comparing what I got on these tactics so far that I thought I might buff the Soldier Maneuvers. That said the class is not quite finished. I have it mostly done, and even once I have it finished and ready to post, I want to properly play test it before publishing it to this sight. Once that's done I might go ahead and get started on the prestige classes again, now that better foundation has been set.
I won't delete the original Genius class, or even remove it from the class page, because 1: I think players should have the option to take that one if they wish. 2: I thought it would be nice to have that there to show how far this has come.
Balancing this with my KH supplement has been difficult, and I would like to think I am at least doing an alright job on both so far. But I would like to thank everyone who has been helping with this, especially ThatOneNekosune for all his work on the Geography page. And I do want to see this supplement be fully completed someday. However, that's going to take time, and a lot of effort, all of which I am going to do my best to put in.
Once the Genius 2.0 is done, I'll post it to this site, and this setting. Do be patient however.
