Talk:3.5e Archetype Feats
From D&D Wiki
Okay, can anyone explain where archetype feats come from - are they detailed in a publication, or did people just decide to start making massively overpowered feats as a homebrew concept? Marasmusine (talk) 07:01, 18 March 2013 (MDT)
- Honestly to me it looks like someone took a brief glance at races of war and decided they wanted to advance it even further without forethought or actual balance. Races of war was designed to be off balanced against regular dnd but balanced against itself; this is trying to make things that would break RoW and introduce it to regular dnd. - We should start balancing or removing these, then. I see that Races of War has feats a) scale with BAB, Skill Rank or Spell Level, and b) begin with small bonuses, by mid-level are worth about 1 feat, and finish off with some worth a bit more than a feat. (Compared to these archetype feats which casually throw in stuff like "Your hit die increase by 1 step" at 1st level). Marasmusine (talk) 01:54, 28 March 2013 (MDT)
