Talk:Syllable of Detachment (5e Syllable)

This page was previously moved to (5e Spell), and I understand the reason. Clutter is being tracked and will be pulled under one roof when the Truenamer class is finished, but until then please don't move things without a redirect.

I saw the summary. I am confused if they aren't spells, then why does Truenamer (5e Class) link to Truename Spells and in the description of Truename Spells it says the magic exists in the Weave. Which this SPELL is listed on the Truename SPELLS page. At the time, I don't recall any pages being linked to this page otherwise I would have included the redirect. If there were linked pages it was an oversight. If these are not spells, then maybe the site can look into creating a category like 3.5 has (3.5e Complex Special Ability Components) and you can use the ID appropriate for what these are so all users have an idea what this page is before clicking on it. Beings that it is part of class and these can take 3-18 months to complete, it'd be nice to figure out this detail first; again, so other users have an idea what the article is they are about to click on. What it says is "This magic exists both in the Weave and in the Universal language that defines it." i.e. a hybrid of truename magic and normal spells from the weave. To be clear, Truename spells are spells, while all other truename magic is not. You just happened to pull the one rare exception and apply it to the rest of Truename magic. Notice the next sentence said: "Truename spells are not included in a Truenamer's abilities..." This phrase was intended to infer that Truename Spells are foreign to the Truenamer class. If you are wondering, the original text from which this class is built upon introduced syllables as parts of a fractured but powerful utterance, which is also not a spell. Gathering all the syllables of that utterance would allow the character to speak it and release its unique power. Please read the Tome of Magic (Written by D&D for 3.5) or the full class description for more info.

That said... I do not have your experience in editing the wiki and its link infrastructure, so any tips on building something proper would be greatly appreciated. I noticed when it comes to magic in the site's pages there are Spells and Psionics. If Truename Magic had its own section as Psionics do, it would go a long ways toward cleaning this up.
