This weapon normally appears to be a heavy cloth umbrella. However, when the handle is twisted, a thin rapier can be drawn from the umbrella's shaft. Additionally, if held in the off hand where the umbrella's framework joins the shaft, the steel framework can be used as an exotic buckler, providing a +1 to AC against slashing weapons. (The framework is a web-like grid, and is thus useless against bludgeoning or piercing weapons.) The umbrella can also be used as a bashing shield, dealing 1d4 of bludgeoning damage. Exotic Weapon Proficiency provides the wielder proficiency with both the shield and the sword, however, if used as a bashing shield and sword instead of a sword and shield, normal two weapon fighting penalties apply. The nature of this weapon provides concealment for both shield and sword, at a DC 22 spot, or DC 16 search to reveal its true nature. For every 3 piercing damage dealt to the shield, the spot and search DC is lowered by 1, as the tattered cloth reveals more and more of the shield. A successful repair or craft check (DC 18) can mend the cloth, assuming proper materials are available.
