Crushing Weapons. The stoneborn's weapon attacks are magical. When the stoneborn hits with any weapon, the weapon deals an extra 10 (3d6) damage of its type (included in the attack).

Weapon Absorption. Whenever the stoneborn is subjected to bludgeoning, piercing or damage from a nonmagical attack, it takes no damage and instead regains a number of hit points equal to the bludgeoning, piercing or slashing damage dealt.

Hardened Body. A creature that touches the stoneborn or hits it with a melee attack while within 5 feet of it takes 10 (3d6) bludgeoning damage.

Innate Spellcasting. The stoneborn's innate spellcasting ability is Charisma (spell save DC 17, +9 to hit with spell attacks). The stoneborn can innately cast the following spells, requiring no material components:

At will: fog cloud, spike growth
3/day each: meld into stone, stone shape, wall of stone
1/day: plane shift (self only)

Rejuvenation. If its crystal heart exists, a destroyed stoneborn gains a new body in 1d10 days, regaining all its hit points and becoming active again. The new body appears within 5 feet of the crystal heart.

ACTIONS

Multiattack. The stoneborn can use its Fortifying Decree. It then makes three attacks.

Maul. Melee Weapon Attack: +11 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 22 (5d6 + 5) bludgeoning damage.

Heavy Crossbow. Ranged Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, range 100/400 ft., one target. Hit: 16 (1d10 + 1 + 3d6) piercing damage.

Fortifying Decree (3/Day). The stoneborn chooses up to three nonhostile creatures it can see within 30 feet of it. An affected creature can use its reaction to cast the wall of stone spell (save DC 19) with the following modifications: the spell has a range of 30 feet and can only create a maximum of two panels. If the creature was already concentrating on the wall of stone spell, it instead adds two panels to the preexisting wall. Each creature that benefits from this action then takes 10 (3d6) bludgeoning damage. This damage cannot be reduced or avoided by any means. If this damage reduces an affected creature to 0 hit points, the stoneborn regains hit points equal to the damage dealt and if that creature was concentrating on the wall of stone spell, the wall remains for 1 minute, whereupon it is destroyed.

Stone Breath (Recharge 5-6). The stoneborn exhales fragments of stone in a 60-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a DC 19 Dexterity saving throw, taking 36 (8d8) bludgeoning damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

Of all the stoneborn, the greatest are the exalted. Blessed with the fullest power of elemental earth, the stoneborn exalted appear as though crafted entirely from marble or another fine mineral, like a statue come to life. But they are no products of stonemasonry, for the exalted are among the most powerful servants of elemental earth, a fact which they are entirely aware of, though their stoic natures prevent them from becoming too boastful.
Born of stoneborn who venture into the Plane of Earth seeking power, the exalted have found it, though the price was nothing less than their very souls and hearts. The heart, once removed, becomes the new vessel of the stoneborn's soul, transforming from flesh to a vivid crimson crystal that pulses with light like a heartbeat: a crystal heart, which guarantees eternal life in service of elemental earth. To end the stoneborn exalted, the crystal heart must be found and shattered. This is no easy feat, as it isn't simply enough to crush the crystal under a hammer blow, as though the crystal may fracture, it will never break, as it is held together with cords of glowing energy. To destroy it, a powerful wind must blow upon the crystal heart, unmaking the magic bindings and disintegrating the crystal.

Elemental Nature. A stoneborn exalted doesn't require air, food, drink, or sleep.
