Soulless[edit]

You were someone in this universe, you were a somebody, but after a life-altering event your soul has been taken by force or given away by a stronger power. Now you must learn to live your life without a crucial part of your being.

Skill Proficiencies: Two proficiencies that do not rely on charisma.

Tool Proficiencies: One set of artisan's tools, Disguise kit, Poisoner's kit

Equipment: A set of common clothes, a small golden flower, one tool set you are proficient with, and a gold pouch containing 25gp

Feature: Emptiness[edit]

Your lack of emotion causes concern in others. People will often accept minor sacrifices to avoid or quickly finish interacting with you, such as lower prices in haggling.

Alternate feature: Second Opinion[edit]

You can telepathically hear a voice from the flower you carry, guiding you along. It follows your personality traits, bonds and flaws, but has an opposing alignment.

Suggested Characteristics[edit]

d8 Personality Trait
1 I find it difficult to concentrate on things that don't interest me.
2 I absentmindedly pick things up and don't put them back down.
3 I tend to put myself in situations that cause others emotional grief as I forget how fragile a person's heart can be.
4 Every once in a while, I will find myself focusing on the emptiness inside as if expecting an answer.
5 Studying the body of this vessel, I realized that I just need to replace the void within me with a similar soul. But from whom?
6 If souls are the essence of one's being, then I don't need to force myself below the laws of those with a soul. I will do what I need and when I want.
7 I have no problem losing those around me. Maybe sentimentality isn't my strong suit.
8 Souls are such precious things. Fragile, malleable, and hard to remove. I wish to protect them all if not my own.
d6 Ideal
1 Retribution. I seek another soul to replace the one I lost. (Neutral)
2 Destruction. If I can't have a soul, no one else can. (Evil)
3 Prevention. I can't let anybody else lose their soul. (Good)
4 Acceptance. This is how it is, and I need to just keep moving. (Any)
5 Freedom. With no soul, there is no morality to hold me back. (Chaotic)
6 Greed. I shall take every soul I find. They are a source of power. (Evil)
d6 Bond
1 I trust myself and myself alone.
2 There is only one person I feel understands me in the world.
3 Relationships seem so trivial. I cannot carry the weight of both my own and another's emotions!
4 I cannot forgive the thing that took my soul.
5 My family left me due to the nature of my condition. I want to find them someday.
6 I need nobody. What has no core can suffer neither need nor want.
d6 Flaw
1 I often burst into fits of pity without warning.
2 Everyday, I feel the pressure within my body grow stronger, as if the emptiness is spreading.
3 I tend to instigate problems and arguments, as my apathy leads me to tactless or callous responses.
4 I cannot understand what motivates others' intentions.
5 With all of my will, I manage to filter my pain through humor to mask my struggles.
6 I have a hard time relating to others and will often ignore those who do not have my interest.
