Echolocation. The springtail can't use its blindsight while deafened.

ACTIONS

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 1 piercing damage.

Sonic Burst (Recharge 6). The springtail emits a deafening burst of sound within a 15-foot radius of itself. Each creature in that area must make a DC 11 Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes 5 (2d4) thunder damage and is deafened until the end of its next turn. On a successful save, a creature takes half as much damage and isn't deafened.

The sonic springtail is a small fish that measures up to 2-feet in length. Its body is covered in shimmering scales that refract light and create a dazzling display underwater. The sonic springtail has the unique ability to emit high-pitched sounds and use echolocation to navigate its environment, locate prey, and communicate with other members of its species. When threatened, the sonic springtail can emit a deafening burst of sound that can disorient predators and allow it to escape. Its sound-related abilities make it a valuable subject of study for wizards and scholars who specialize in sound magic.
