Slitherer (5e Creature)
From D&D Wiki
Slitherer[edit]
Tiny aberration, unaligned Armor Class 8
Saving Throws Dex +4 ACTIONSBite. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 4 (1d4 + 2) piercing damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 9 Constitution saving throw or be infected with a disease as the slitherer burrows into it. 5 (1d10) hours after being infected, the creature must repeat the saving throw. On a failed save, it transforms into a randomly determined infected. On a successful save, nothing happens and the effect ends for it.

A small, snake-like creature with light green skin and milky white-yellow eyes. Their mouths hide their small, chunky yellow teeth. The Infected are creatures created by alchemists and wizards seeking to improve the situation of humans in comparison to the other races. Their experiments failed, giving breed to aberrations such as these. These are the 'babies' of the Infected. They scavenge off the remains of others like vultures. While they may share the same territory and assist in defending from attackers, their cooperation ends there. The slitherers are constantly searching for a new host to grow and mutate from, slithering and taking unsuspecting travelers by surprise. They sometimes attack in pacts from anywhere between 5-20 slitherers, although it is more common to find one alone, depending on the amount of food nearby. While they abide by no rules, there is a certain law they follow: whomever gets the host first keeps it. |
