Booker DeWitt from Bioshock Infinite: Burial at Sea exhibiting ageless's innate magic, Irrational Games |
In the realm of the great wizard Gundar the Ageless, time does not work the same as other realms, not much does. Gundar's realm is its own plain of existence, where he controls almost everything. I, User Doctorbluethefifth, will eventually make Gundar's realm as a campaign setting, so I will just explain the realm more there. but one thing that I must say, is that in most realms there is a patch of land, about 5 meters by 5 meters that by walking though, if the realm senses you are of no danger, or are from the realm, will let you enter.
But the citizens of Gundar's realm have a few great blessings from living in such a magical and timeless realm, such as much much slower ageing, stronger immune systems, and slight innate magical capability. While most citizens of the realm live nice peaceful lives, some chose to leave the realm and adventure, but they almost always keep doing whatever job they had in the realm, if they ran a store they would most likely buy a wagon and run the store from the back of said wagon. if they were a writer they would keep writing.
This subrace can be applied to any race, including those which don't normally have subraces. If it is applied to a race that does have subraces, you must still pick another backround in addition to this one.
- Ageless Traits
The Ageless of Gundar's realm are known for their calm demeanor, even if the original species is not, living usually up to five times their species usual age(though they could potentially live up to eight time the age, after six time the Ageless property's of the realm start to falter) and a seem to give off a air of calm and joy. The Ageless enjoy simple things, such as their job, playing music, gardening, and more.
Ability Score Increase. The magic of Gundar's realm have filled your very being, you have more heightened abilities than others not of Gundar's realm. One ability score of your choice increases by 2 and another by 1, or three of your choice increase by 1 each. Alternatively, you may choose a feat.
Darkvision. You have superior vision in dark and dim conditions due to your life in Gundar's magic realm. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Ageless Body. The maximum age of your character is increased by [max species age x 5] normally, [max species age x 6] for old, and [max species age x 7(or 8)] for elderly. You have advantage against poison and psychic damage, being poisoned, and suffer no debilitating, long-term, health effects from tobacco or other smoking products, but you have disadvantage against lightning.
Realm of Magic. You have innate magic capability. You know two cantrips that do not count towards your known cantrips. The first allows you to, with the snap of your finger, summon a small spark that grows into a flame. This flame can be used to ignite objects and produces light, but causes no harm to yourself. You can choose one other cantrip of your choice.
Traveler or Hometown Kid. You have a choice between two options:
- Traveler You are well traveled. Whether its from exploring Gundar's realm or from venturing out into other realms, such as the Forgotten Realm, Eberon, or even ravenloft. You have proficiency in the Athletics skill.
- Hometown Kid. You are on your first major adventure other than simple trade or tourism, but you have had plenty of time to read. You have proficiency in the History skill.
