Shorc[edit]

What do you get when you combine the strength of an orc with the abilities of a shark? You get monsters who can swim.
—Some Human Guy

Physical Description[edit]

Shorcs are orc-related humanoids with smooth skin of various shades of grey. They tend to have a fin on each arm and a third on their head in place of hair. The teeth of a shorc are incredibly large and sharp, and are sometimes even sold in necklaces and jewelry. Shorcs tend to wear very little clothing or very tight-fitting clothing so as to more easily travel through the water. Female shorcs tend to be taller and sleeker, often even seen as deadlier than male shorcs, though this difference is minimal. Shorcs are a symbol of menace and are feared within the water or out of it.

History[edit]

Shorcs came to be after there was a great flood which forced several species and races to adapt to become more aquatic. Orcs kept to their brutal ways, quickly becoming great hunters of smaller creatures in the sea and eventually evolving into shorcs.

Society[edit]

Shorc society relies heavily on both strong tribes and strong individuals. Shorcs will establish a home base in an area with little resistance and gather there when in distress. Otherwise, they'll simply travel alone in the ocean constantly looking for more food. Because of this, shorcs which decide to go onto land are generally forgotten about by their tribe. Once on land, shorcs have a clear tendency towards cruelty and a near insatiable appetite. If a shorc returns to their tribe, they are generally welcomed back with open arms. Also worth note is that shorcs gave up on their gods when the flood came, becoming totally dependent on themselves.

Shorc Names[edit]

Shorc names are only used by their tribe members when they are both on land or above the water, which is rare and generally happens in an emergency situation. Because of this, shorcs have very short names for the sake of easily referring to each other quickly. Other than in this way, their names are similar to that of land orcs.

Male: Jok, Rab, Shall, Bukk

Female: Kof, Dhov, Gah, Daz
