Originally created by the Elder Things as servants, the Shoggoths eventually rebelled and destroyed the civilization of their masters. Shoggoths resemble huge, intelligent amoebae, able to form almost any shape out of their transparent bodies, including eyes, legs, mouths, huge weapons, or whatever is needed. The few remaining shoggoths lurk in distant, long deserted areas, sometimes aiding servants of the Old Ones.

Combat[edit]

Shoggoths rarely use complicated tactics. They spit acid at enemies until they get close enough to crush their enemies with slam attacks. They have Track as a racial bonus feat.

Acid (Ex): Shoggoths can produce acid and spit it as a glob at enemies. This is a ranged attack with a +19 bonus on the attack roll, and it deals 4d6 acid damage.

Immunities (Ex): Shoggoths are immune to acid, cold, disease, and poison. They are also immune to ability damage and ability drain; but only in regards to their Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma ability scores.

Shapechanging (Su): As a free action, shoggoths can assume the form of any creature or object of Large or smaller size. It can even assume the form of smaller creatures or items but still be Large in size. For example, they could change into Large-sized humans or Large-sized squirrels. Shoggoths always use their own ability scores and natural armor bonus regardless of what form, size, or shape they take.

Skills: Shoggoths have a +8 racial bonus on Swim checks. They can always choose to take 10 on a Swim check, even if distracted or endangered. They can use the run action while swimming, provided they move in a straight line. Shoggoths have a +8 racial bonus on Disguise checks made while they are using their shapechanging ability, when not using shapechanging they have -8 racial penalty on Disguise checks due to their bizarre form.
