Shakuran[edit]

It makes sense, doesn't it... A world that spawned such creatures like orcs had to be hiding other horrors in its belly.

Physical Description[edit]

Shakurans are tall, cyclopean humanoids that hail from another world. A shakuran's height can be anything from middle-high five feet to well over six feet tall. They usually possess spiky hair the color of which ranges from white to pink to purple. Their mouths are lined with sharp teeth and they have pointed ears. They have one large eye and skin of many diverse colors from white to light-blue to dark-blue to black with crack-shaped markings that start from their eyes and cover most of their bodies that can also be any color of the mentioned range.

History[edit]

Shakurans are believed to come from a world similar if not the same as that of the orcs. Like the orc's origin, it is largely unknown due to the passage of time, but it is only known that they are not native. However, their time here has made them almost a natural sight entirely. Shakurans are believed to have smaller numbers than orcs due to battles over resources, many of which they lost. Thus, shakurans are commonly subservient to powerful orc clans, or they avoid them entirely, squirreled away in their own neck of the mountains. While they may seem defeated, shakurans have been known to be as belligerent and mad as orcs, if not just as dangerous. They have a special healing capability that allows them to be as resilient as a half-orc, and this has attributed to their survival in harsh conditions of the world.

Society[edit]

The shakuran people have been spread thin as a result of their conflicts. After having lost to the orcs over a few centuries ago, their remaining clans scattered into smaller numbers. Many sought refuge from their neighbors, but they were also filled with loathing of the world. Unlike the orcs, who see themselves as conquerers, the shakurans saw little value in this world to take control of. They were more favorable of decimating it to build anew. This genocidal viewpoint has made it hard for their clans to establish any working relations with outsiders, and their numbers dwindle. Some have come to see other races as tools instead, and so see not issue with using them for their own gain.

Overall, shakurans are somewhat sadistic beings who do not know of things like friendship beyond the blood of their own race. Even within their own race, they are highly cynical and suspicious. It is typical of shakurans to brag of their strength. Shakurans value strength as evolution, and have gruesome fights for young to ascend to maturity. They believe this strengthens their recovery powers, and also pleases their mysterious one eye god, believed to be an alternate aspect of Gruumsh perhaps.

Shakuran Names[edit]

Names for shakurans are chances for them to define themselves as the majestic beings they believe themselves to be, as paragons of strength. These names often allude to greatness to change the world and history itself. While the shakurans share a tongue for Orc, they do not use their conventions in their names.
