Large undead, lawful neutral Armor Class 18 (natural armor)
Saving Throws Con +7, Wis +4 Dark Amorphousness. The shadow soldier can fit through a space as narrow as 1 inch without squeezing as long as both it and the space are in dim light or darkness. ACTIONSMultiattack. The shadow soldier makes two attacks, only one of which may be with its Strength Drain. Shadow Greatsword. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 18 (4d6 + 4) slashing damage plus 5 (1d10) necrotic damage. Shadow Spear. Melee or Ranged Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 10 ft. or range 20/60 ft., one target. Hit: 18 (2d6 + 4) piercing damage plus 5 (1d10) necrotic damage. Battle Cry (Recharge 5). The shadow soldier releases a terrifying shriek, every creature that has "shadow" in its name within 60ft that can hear the shriek gains advantage on there attack and damage rolls until the beginning of the shadow soldier's next turn, excluding the shadow soldier releasing the shriek. Strength Drain. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 12 (2d8 + 4) necrotic damage, and the target's Strength score is reduced by 1d4. The target dies if this reduces its Strength to 0. Otherwise, the reduction lasts until the target finishes a short or long rest. BONUS ACTIONSShadow Stealth. While in dim light or darkness, the shadow soldier takes the Hide action.

The strongest type of shadow soldier, fourth ranks are incredibly powerful. Only summoned from the mightiest of fallen creatures, a fourth rank is also intelligent enough to command groups of shadow soldiers on its own, invigorating them with its fearsome battle cries. |
