Shadow Blade[edit]

Roguish Archetype

Shadow blades are mythical assassins, able to weave the shadows from the Shadowfell into mortal weapons made out of pure darkness. Their signature ability is the ability to create the eponymous shadow blades, weapons made of darkness that can pierce through their opponents minds, and that can phase through armor, flesh and bone when used in the shadows.

Shadow Casting

At 3rd level, you gain the ability to weave shadows from the shadowfell to cast spells. You gain a number of shadow points equal to twice your rogue level. You regain all shadow points when you finish a long rest. You can spend 2 shadow points to replicate the effects of one of the following spells: darkness, shadow blade, silence and pass without trace. Intelligence is your spellcasting ability for these spells.

You can spend more points to cast a spell at a higher level, casting at a level equal to the amount of points spent. The maximum number of points you can spend on a spell can't be above your proficiency bonus.

Eyes of Darkness

At 3rd level, you gain darkvision up to a range of 60 feet. If you already have darkvision, its range increases by 60 feet. In addition, you can see through the magical darkness you create.

Shadow Step

At 9th level, you gain the ability to step from one shadow into another. When you are in dim light or darkness, as a bonus action you can teleport up to 60 feet to an unoccupied space you can see that is also in dim light or darkness. You then have advantage on the first melee attack you make before the end of the turn.

Veil of Shadows

At 13th level , you can weave a veil of shadows to mask yourself. As an action, you can magically become invisible, along with anything you are wearing or carrying, for 10 minutes or until you dismiss this effect (no action required). This invisibility ends if you deal damage to a creature or if you force a creature to make a saving throw.

Once you use this feature, you can’t do so again until you finish a short rest.

Death by Thousand Needles

At 17th level, you can use an Action to choose one creature you are able to see within 60 feet. You must use a free hand to point at that creature, unleashing a barrage of needles made of pure darkness that pursue the victim, forcing it to make a Dexterity saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failed save, the target is reduced to 0 hit points. On a success, nothing happens.

Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.
