Sentient Weapon (5e Race)
From D&D Wiki
Sentient Weapon[edit]
Sentient Weapons are weapons that through one means or another, gained sentience. While most sentient weapons wallow away in the pity of their existence, Sentient Weapons have decided to take matters into their own hands. Sentient Weapons decide to take control of their user, and now act through them. They feed on their user, eventually killing them, but they wouldn't stop even if they had to kill millions of others.
Physical Description[edit]
Sentient Weapons are weapons, and they continue to be a certain type of weapon until their sentience is removed. However, Sentient Weapons feed off the souls of their users, and can use their users souls to repair themselves if any minor damage occurs. Sentient Weapons can also be modified in appearance slightly, and even change in weapon type if the change is not major.
History[edit]
Sentient Weapons are born when they are given sentience. From the moment they are created they want nothing more but to continue to exist. Sentient Weapons would sacrifice anything to keep existing, and view their time as a tool with nothing but hate. Sentient Weapons will usually go against their alignment or nature to continue to live.
Attitudes and Beliefs[edit]
Sentient Weapons usually judge others based on weapons that they are holding, rather than their appearance. Some Sentient Weapons have higher opinions of people holding expensive or royally designed weapons. Others have higher opinions of stronger, more damaging weapons. Whatever their opinions may be, the appearance of the user matters little to a Sentient Weapon.
