Scorpidine (plural)[edit]

Personality[edit]

Scorpidine are a surprisingly kind and good-natured race, despite the stigma that their heritage may bring. They tend to be more level-headed than their peers, but also tend to be honor-bound to a deal they make. They aren't prone to rash decisions, and, also surprisingly, tend to be more on the mild-mannered and timid side.

Physical Description[edit]

Scorpidine are humanoid in shape, and, indeed share many similarities to humans. They look like humans except for a few minor traits, such as them possessing claw shells on their hands and a scorpion tail. Mature scorpidine will grow extra arms, for a maximum of six, usually. They also tend to be much taller than a human, with the smallest of them standing over 7 feet tall. Their children often appear more like human adolescents from a young age, even. Their hair and skin coloration tend to vary similarly to humans, but their tail tends to be a darker brown or black color, and their eyes range from yellow to black to olive green.

Relations[edit]

Many races fear Scorpidine, not for their war-like tendencies, for they have none, but for their poisonous sting and their sheer stubbornness and a refusal to die in combat. Orcs often challenge them, seeing them as near-equals in raw power, while elves tend to give them a wide berth. Humans are split on the matter, some wishing to be closer to them, others repulsed by their arachnid qualities. Surprisingly, dwarves often get along well with them, and are known to share a drink with them often, sometimes even trying Scorpidine Wine, which is distilled from their venomous sting into a strong, yet mild-tasting, beverage.

Alignment[edit]

Scorpidine are often Lawful, primarily due to their honor-bound ways. Where they vary the most, though, is between good and evil. While many races would believe them to be evil, they tend not to be, their culture focused on aiding others and showing compassion to those that deserve it.

Lands[edit]

Scorpidine tend to live in arid deserts, much like their scorpion ancestry would indicate, although they are perfectly content with any warmer climates. Very rarely will you find one high in the mountains or in a tundra, and those that are found there, tend to complain about the cold.

Religion[edit]

The Scorpidine tend not to have a set religion, instead praying to whatever god they feel aligns with their beliefs.

Language[edit]

Scorpidine can learn a variety of languages, but their primary language is Sylvan.

Names[edit]

Scorpidine draw their naming conventions from a variety of sources, including mythological and often inspired by other races. Their family names tend to reflect their scorpion heritage ie. Deathstalker, Scorpio, Tityus etc.
