Sand Tsunami
Technique
Level: Sandbender 9
Casting time: 1 round
Range: Personal
Effect: Enormous wave of sand that buries enemies up to 400 feet in front of the user
Duration: 1 round / 10 technician levels
Saving Throw: Reflex negates for those that have a hope of escaping
Spell Resistance: No

Technique Points Required: 17

Clasping your hands together in a loud clap, you slowly raise them up in the air. As you do, the ground before you erupts in an absolutely outrages amount of sand that mixes with your attuned sand. It raises 30 feet in the air, is 20 feet thick, and is 170 feet wide, with you at the middle of the back side of it. This is created during the casting time.

You push your hands forward and the wave fires forward attempting to crush all those in front of it for 100 feet each round. Anyone who has not escaped the width of the wave by the end of the casting has no hope of avoiding being crushed. It forms enormous hands that grasp at enemies within 20 feet of the borders of the wall. They must succeed a Reflex save or be drawn into the wave.

The ending result is a 170 feet wide, 100 feet / technician level wide area of 30 foot deep sand, with those caught in it buried 25 feet within and suffering the same effects as desert coffin.

By expending 15 additional technique points you may increase the range the hands grasp enemies by 20 feet. This may be done as many times as wished.

Also, you may expend 20 additional technique points to halve the duration (rounded down) of the effect but still cover the same distance. For example, a level 30 sandbender would have a duration of 3 rounds and an affected area of 300 feet but this would reduce the duration to 1 round (so the wave would immediately crush all enemies) but still cover the 300 feet.

You may spend no more than twice your technician level in additional technique points on this technique.
