Sacrilegious Fist (3.5e Optimized Character Build)

Introduction[edit]

This build is focused on combining Divine Casting and Monk abilities, with minor Arcane Casting, the ability to put Touch range spells in his fists, and some other fun cheese. This is a remake of a build that was once on wizards.com, but no longer exists. This is my interpretation.

Game Rule Components[edit]

Spells, Powers, Soulmelds, Stances, etc.[edit]

While this build doesn't have any set Spells it needs, it would be a smart idea to focus on Touch spells, since he can use these through his fists.

Items[edit]

It is recommended that this build utilizes Nightsticks, an item from Libris Mortis that provides extra turning attempts, which will then be used to apply Persistent buffs using Divine Metamagic. Also, use the best Strength-enhancing item you can find, since you will be starting with 10 Strength, and no modifier.

Progression[edit]

Starting Ability Scores (Before Racial Adjustments): This build is made using 32 point buy. It needs at least 14 Intelligence, and should have focus in Dexterity, Constitution, and Wisdom (And Strength, if possible). Here's what I have: Str: 10 Dex: 14 Con: 15 Int: 14 Wis: 16 Cha: 8

Race (Templates): Human is the best race for this build, because of the bonus feat it provides. If your DM allows Flaws from Unearthed Arcana, you can choose a different race.

Other Components[edit]

The Apprentice (Criminal) feat allows you to add Bluff to your class skill list, which was needed to meet the requirements for Ur-Priest.

Highlights[edit]

This build has the monk abilities of a mid- to high-level monk, ability to cast level 9 divine spells, the ability to add Wisdom to damage for 1 minute, 5th level Duskblade (arcane) casting, the ability to put touch spells into his unarmed attacks, the ability to use one spell slot for an all-day buff, and Wisdom to AC. Many bonuses to various things, all adding up to a great unarmed combatant/caster. And, as icing on the cake, all of his Base Saves are +10.

Munchkin-Size Me[edit]

If flaws are allowed, find a race with a bonus to wisdom, and no LA. Use this with a flaw instead of Human. I'm sure others can find a way to Munchkin this way more, but I can't think of any way right now.

Side Notes[edit]

This build has to use Turning attempts to make Persistent Spell work with Divine Metamagic. I have suggested the Nightstick item for this, but if you find a feat you don't want in the build, you can replace it with Extra Turning.

Limitations[edit]

This build cannot use weapons. It cannot wear armor. If you increase the Wisdom correctly, this should not be a problem. However, if this build somehow takes Wisdom damage, it is very badly impacted.

DM Counters[edit]

Anti-Magic Field. Spells don't work, leaving him with just his monk abilities. Which probably aren't enough for him to win.
