Sacrificer[edit]

Warlock Subclass

The Sacrificer Warlock forms a pact with an ancient, dark entity that offers immense power in exchange for the sacrifice of one's own flesh and blood. The sacrifices demand great cost, but the rewards are unparalleled—those who walk this path are forever marked by the power they gain.

Expanded Spell List

Your patron lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you.

Expanded Spell List
Spell Level Spells
1st Bane, Inflict Wounds
2nd Blindness/Deafness, Wither and Bloom
3rd Bestow Curse, Life Transference
4th Death Ward, Vitriolic Sphere
5th Contagion, Geas
Unwanted Sacrifice

Also starting at 1st Level, as a bonus action on your turn, you can choose to sacrifice a portion of your soul to your patron for power. You lose a quarter of your maximum number of hit points (rounded up) and regain spell slot.

If using this feature reduces you to 0 hit points, you instantly fails two death saving throws. If reduce you to less than 0 hit points, the sacrifice fails but you still lose the hit points.

Bloody Luck

At 6th level, you gain the ability to sacrifice parts of yourself to manipulate fate. As a reaction to failing an ability check, saving throw, or attack roll, you can choose to add a d6 to the roll. You then loses a number of hit points equal to the total of the roll (up to 20).

If adding this to the roll elevates the number rolled to a 20, that roll is a critical (where it is applied).

Scarification

At 10th level, your constant sacrifices made you endurant to the pain and suffering. You gain resistance to necrotic damage and advantage on saving throws against being frightened or paralyzed.

In addition, when you are reduced to 0 hit points, you can spend a hit die to be reduced to 1 hit point instead.

True Sacrifice

At 14th level, you gain the ability to perform a True Sacrifice to gain immense power. However, this decision is not permanent; you must choose which part of your body to sacrifice each day during your morning ritual, as you finish a long rest.

The effects of the sacrifice last for 24 hours, until you take a long rest, after which you can choose again. If you choose to make a sacrifice permanent, you must perform a 8 hour ritual and at the end the consequences of the sacrifice take place. A permanent sacrifice can only be reverted with a Wish spell, and once reverted it can never be performed again.

Each sacrifice offers unique abilities but comes with a cost. Choose one of the following sacrifices:

Hand: You lose one of your hands. You have Disadvantage on all Strength and Dexterity checks that require you to use your hands. In return, you learn the mage hand cantrip. You also add Telekinesis and Bigby's Hand to your list of known spells. None of these spells count against your maximum number of spells known.
Tongue: You sacrifice your tongue, becoming unable to speak. You automatically fail on checks that are require you to speak, and have Disadvantage on all Charisma checks. In return, you can ignore verbal components of spells and can communicate telepathically with any creature that has a language up to a range of 120 feet.
Heart: You sacrifice your heart. You no longer regain hit points with healing spells, magical objects and with hit dice (only recovering hit points on a long rest). In return, you become immune to the charmed and frightened conditions, critical hits, poisons and diseases.
Also, when you use sacrifice, the slot regained is a special sacrifice slot. A spell cast with that slot is cast as if with a 6th-level spell slot.
Skin: You sacrifice your skin, and your body becomes more vulnerable to environmental threats. You suffer disadvantage on all Constitution checks saving throws, and the attitude of creatures is shifted on first interaction due to your hideous appearance (indiferent creatures become hostile for example). In return, you can cast invisibility on yourself at will, using a Bonus Action.
Also, you have Advantage on all your Dexterity (Stealth) checks and can Hide as a Bonus Action.
Bone: You sacrifice your bones, turning than brittle and frail. You have vulnerability to bludgeoning, piercing and slashing damage. In return, you gain one additional 6th-level Mystic Arcanum.
