The original True Seeing spell has a material components of something that cost 250gp. Does this power also have the same material component since it is psionic after all?

I keep forgetting to sign my posts. I hope the admins will not be to mad.. :D --Jokeboy (talk) 05:17, 7 January 2014 (MST)
Heh, no worries. In my DnD group, we have this little rule of thumb when it comes to spells and psionics: "Spells are OP, equivalent powers are crazy OP". Though it's obviously a sweeping generalisation, my experience is that psionic powers get the effects of their equivalent spells earlier in levels, more often and at less cost (plus augmentation an' whatnot). This power certainly has no material component, though if I were DMing I would rule that it had one anyway. --SgtLion (talk) 13:05, 7 January 2014 (MST)

I don't see why you think that. Most powers come at the same time the spells a sorcerer/wizard attains them. Currently I have a druid in the party and those spells that have similar effects, some greater, some weaker, are attained mostly earlier. But the other thing is that a spell caster has a fixed amount of daily spells that he can cast. A manifester, however, can manifest powers equal to his power point pool. That mean that if I use my powers at maximum I will run out of power points in 4-5 rounds. (though my character is lvl 12 and DR1 and currently I have a way of casting 6 powers in one round,( Temporal Acceleration) but this is irrelevant.)
