SRD Talk:Glyph of Warding
From D&D Wiki
Can you cast a GoW on an arrow with the condition that it shall go off when the arrow is broken?
If so, could you combine it Cure xxx Wound - as it is harmful to undead?
If so, could the GoW then be abused as "healing potion" for the archer or other people in your party?
Also, according to the text, you can use a 3rd level spell or lower that you know to combine it with a GoW. It doesn't say you have to use that spell slot though. Does that mean, when you store a "harmful" spell in it, that your daily spell slots are not affected (except the on for the GoW)?
- The triggering conditions are "those who enter, pass, or open the warded area or object", so a broken arrow can't be a trigger.
- Where a spell can be beneficial or harmful, I would only allow the harmful component of the spell to be used in the spell glyph.

Well, regarding the triggering conditions, you also need to take a look at al. 2: "You set the conditions of the ward. Typically, any creature entering the warded area or opening the warded object without speaking a password (which you set when casting the spell) is subject to the magic it stores."
The "typically" indicates that the list in the first al. 2 is not a concluding list but an open one - meaning you set the conditions of the ward (first phrase of al. 2). It seems to me that al.1 is rather a list of common scenarios how you can use it but that there are other ways or rather conditions which make the Glyph go off.
