Ryujin (5e Race)
From D&D Wiki
Ryujin[edit]
Ryujin or Tastujin, are the descendants of eastern dragons that decided to walk the earth alongside the other mortal races. As such Ryujin resemble Humans much more closely that of their western counterparts. Ryujin don't have a breath attack but retain most of their draconic traits such as their tails.
Physical Description[edit]
Ryujin is very similar to humans, although with some very striking differences. They have slightly pale skin with vividly coloured scales running along the back of their arms, legs, spine and along their neck and cheeks. Their tails are very thin and flexible like a bullwhip and can be used as one. Both of these traits aid in speaking Draconic allowing for all the necessary movements required. Ryujin don't have horns, rather fin-like protrusions coming from the sides of their skull. Their eyes and hair are generally the same colour and can range from jet-black to brilliant blues and greens. Ryujin is almost always in top physical condition due to their heritage.
History[edit]
Ryujin descends from dragons that learned honour through humility and decided to live equally alongside with the humans that inhabit the land. This came from a dispute between the various dragons that inhabited the land. Many wanted to reign as gods over the humans while others saw value in them, each with their own strengths and weaknesses, and as such war broke out between the two factions of dragons. The war spanned 20 years and ended with no victor, as both sides were tired of spilling the blood of their own kind. Afterwards, both factions decided to go their separate ways and the result was the birth of a new race, a perfect combination of both man and dragon. Modern Ryujin are the result of hundreds of years of breeding within both races.
Society[edit]
Ryujin are generally rare, do not have a proper society and prefer to live in secluded areas spending their time training and honing their skills. This does not mean they do not enjoy the company. In fact, some have been known to fit into human society and live among them in relative peace, Although they are shunned in areas where other draconic beings are predominantly present as well.
