North-to-East[edit]

The Ruxeiin, or Long-arms as they are known, are a rare breed indeed. If a Xei remains in Rukaiin territory long enough, they may develop strong feelings for a partner they've found there, and may conceive, though action pains them, as they must eventually return home. The child, however, cannot enter Xei land without forsaking the options of ever leaving. All Ruxeiin player characters are those who have opted to stay in the world that they know, in Rukaea.

Personality: Ruxeiin are curious. Ruxeiin are inquisitive. The Long-arms' natural state of mind is one of contemplation, but they are also philosophers of the heart. Never truly being a part of the Xei world, they must study the Rukaiin way of life, and see what it has to offer. The influence from their Xei parentage, however, gives them reason to question everything, absolutely everything about why something must be done, and if it can be avoided in lieu of a more favorable outcome for all. Ruxeiin have difficulty understanding the concepts of war and conquest, and are shocked indeed to eventually learn that they themselves are not generally accepted outside of their home cities for their very appearance.

Physical Description: The general height and weight of a Ruxeiin is similar to a Rukaiin, plus an additional ten pounds, because their arms are slightly longer, and more defined. The facial structure of a Ruxeiin is a mix of the angular features of the Xei, and the squared features of most Rukaiin.

Relations: Ruxeiin are eager to meet new people and learn about the world around them, even in the face of potential danger. They believe in second chances, and are willing to give anyone that does not prove grievously in error a chance to redeem themselves.

Alignment: Long-arms favor neutrality above most else. They are not particularly fond of causing trouble, but they also tend to ignore the structure of laws that don't mesh with their own personal values. Ruxeiin are generally Neutral, or Neutral Good.

Ruxeiin Lands: See Rukaiin entry.

Religion: See Rukaiin or Xei entries.

Language: Ruxeiin speak Common and Xei, and generally learn whatever other languages that they can.

Names: See Rukaiin or Xei entries.

Adventures: Long-arms take to the road more often than not out of their natural curiosity and wanderlust. To them, there is nothing more satisfying than solving a long-standing mystery, uncovering new knowledge, and most importantly the discovery of a long-forgotten book.

Ruxeiin Racial Traits

  • +2 Intelligence, -2 Constitution. Stronger than their Xei parents, but more intelligence than their Rukaiin parents, the Long-arms enjoy a middle-ground. They may fall ill more often than a healthy Rukaiin, but they are also better suited to manual labor and even melee combat.
  • Medium: As Medium creatures, Ruxeiin have no special bonuses or penalties due to their size.
  • Ruxeiin base land speed is 30 feet. (Six squares)
  • Keen Sight: Ruxeiin are better able to distinguish minor details upon close inspection of objects. The DM may choose to discretely roll a Search check against the DC of a document, illustration, or relief in order to point out something relevant (or perhaps threatening) to the PC.
  • +2 racial bonus to Will saves vs. Enchantment and Charm effects.
  • +2 to Climb and Jump checks. The increased arm length of the Ruxeiin gives it a marked advantage to certain tasks, namely reaching higher places and getting firmer handholds.
  • Automatic Languages: Common and Xei. Bonus Languages: See Rukaiin entry.
  • Favored Class: Bard (Low to No-magic campaign setting). A multiclass Ruxeiin’s bard class does not count when determining whether they take an experience point penalty for multiclassing. (See PHB 3.5, pp 60)
