Roaring bears are utterly massive creatures usually found far from civilised lands. They are perhaps best known for their tremendous roars which can be heard from miles away and the lion-like manes possessed by males. Roaring bears are so rare that hearing one is seen as a good omen said to ward off pests of all kinds, so some farmers carry talismans made from shed roaring bear fur.
