ACTIONS

Multiattack. The ripper drone makes one claw attack, and uses the Self-Replicate action, if it can without reducing itself to or below 0 hit points.

Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 5 (1d6 + 2) slashing damage. If the target isn't a construct, plant, undead, or ooze, the drone regains an equal amount of hit points.

Self-Replicate. The ripper drone takes 5 necrotic damage, and creates a second ripper drone, appearing within 5 feet of the drone which spawned it. It only has 10 hit points, and has a maximum of 15.

Design Note: The CR of the drone is also meant to represent the drones it creates. Do not calculate those separately.

Few constructs are as disgusting in nature compared to the ripper drone. At first glance, they're simple, made up of interlocking plates and razor sharp claws. However, this all changes in reaction to blood.

When exposed to blood, their bodies balloon as it quickly absorbs into the steel. Even worse, this causes them to, in a sense, reproduce. Thanks to this, a single drone can lead to infestations, as they simply keep on multiplying.

God only knows how they come about. Some believe they are the deranged creations of insane artificers, others have theorized that they are punishments from the plane of Mechanus. No matter how they come about, the destruction brought on by them is horrific.
