Lifeforce Insert Ravid-Born Racial Power
You touch an object with your third arm, injecting your potent life-force. With this semblance of life, it defends you to the best of its ability.
Encounter
Minor Action Melee 1
Target: One unattented object weighing 10 lb. or less that has not previously been animated with lifeforce insert.
Effect: The object is animated until the end of your next turn. Until the effect ends, the object cannot be used for its normal function (e.g. a weapon could not be used for weapon attacks). When you use a move action, it can move 6 squares, remaining adjacent to you if possible, and it can occupy the same square as another creature. The animated object grants a benefit depending on its form:
  • Sheet-like objects (curtains, blankets): When you grab a creature, or successfully escape the grab of a creature, that creature is blinded until the object is no longer animated or until you enter another grab.
  • Flexible objects (ropes, chains): When you hit a creature with a melee attack, that creature also grants combat advantage until the object is no longer animated or until you hit another creature with a melee attack.
  • Broad objects (tables, shields): You gain a +2 power bonus to AC and Reflex until the object is no longer animated.
  • Weapon-like objects: You gain a +2 power bonus to one damage roll per round until the object is no longer animated. Ammunition (arrows, sling stones) are restricted to ranged or area attacks. Thrown weapons can be used with any attack. Other weapons can only be used with close or melee attacks.

From the lands of Eberron were the white serpents of Irian. These dragon-like beings possessed the ability to animate objects. Outside the Positive Energy Plane, they were very pleased to see images of themselves created out of worship. As a sign of approval, they would sometimes bring these images to life. These would be the ravid-born, those who were made in the likeliness of the dragons.

Play a Ravid-Born if you want...

  • To be a descendant of powerful dragon-like beings of the Positive Energy Plane
  • To animate a horde of inanimate objects to serve you.
  • To be a member of a race that favors the Ardent, Sorcerer, Warlock, and Paladin classes.

Physical Qualities[edit]

Ravid-Borns resemble a humanoid form of their ancestors. They look like a lithe silvery-white Lizardfolk or even draconic humanoids with a third smaller arm coming out of their upper arm. They have jade green eyes and pointed ears. They have long spindly fingers ending in sharp claws.

Playing a Ravid-Born[edit]

Ravid-Borns are the descendants of humans mingled with Ravids. They are instinctive healers and tend to stay neutral, helping anyone in need. Though they are thrown into a righteous rage whenever their friends, allies, or those being healed by it are threatened.

Ravid-Born Characteristics: Noble, valorous, energetic, helpful, caring, calm.

She was the only one of her kind that she knew and when her parents were killed she left on a quest fueled by her raw emotions seeking not only answers to her existence but to find her parent's killers.

Thorriim is a Ravid-Born Cleric. Thorriim spent his youth growing up in the temple of Pelor, having been adopted by the high-priest there. Having seen his powers as a gift from Pelor he has set out on a righteous journey to bring light and healing to the world.

Xantumal is a Ravid-Born Sorcerer. Xantumal grew up being worshiped as a minor god by a small village of kobolds. When Xantumal's draconic heritage came calling and brought forth his gift for sorcery, he left the village realizing the power he had over those around him.

Ravid-Born Utility Powers[edit]
