From D&D Wiki
Ranged Killer[edit]
Rogue Subclass
Archer by Natasha Skult |
Deadly assassins, nested on rooftops in the night, waiting for the victims; vicious hunters, slaying their prey with a single shot of a bow; and marksman mercenaries, putting their crossbows at the service of any banner with gold enough. These are the ranged killers, rogues specialized in the use of ranged weapons to slay their opponents.
These rogues tend to be more combat focused than most, and their discipline in the training with they weapon of choice is comparable with that of swordmasters training carefully their skills, or the disciplined monks that spend years honing their combat techniques. Alongside with raw precision with the bow, they often make use of special tricks, such the use of poison and a meticulously choosing of shooting nests to take care of their targets.
The Ranged Killer is an archetype geared towards the rogues who prefer a long-range fighting style.
- Poison Specialist
At the 3rd level when you choose this archetype you gain proficiency with the poisoner's kit. In addition, you can use your bonus action granted by your Cunning Action to poison a weapon or piece of ammunition, rather than an action.
- Deadshot
When you choose this archetype at the 3rd level, you gain +2 on attack rolls with ranged weapons. In addition, being within 5 feet of a hostile creature doesn’t impose disadvantage on your ranged attack rolls.
Finally, when you make an attack with a ranged weapon against a creature within 30 feet, you don't need advantage to benefit from your sneak attack damage.
- Shot in the Dark
Also at 9th level, you have become accustomed to making impossible shots, even when you cannot see your target clearly. You no longer have disadvantage on attacks at long range. In addition, if you are able to detect a target with Blindsense, you have advantage on attack rolls against that creature.
- Silent Killer
At the 13th level, you master the ability to mask where your ammunition is along with silencing the shot, making it incredibly hard to track where you are based on ranged attacks.
When you make a ranged weapon attack while hidden, make a Dexterity (Stealth) check, contested by the Wisdom (Perception) of any creature with line of sight of you. If you win, your position is not revealed and you remain hidden.
- Headshot
At the 17th level, you know exactly how to cripple and kill your enemies. Whenever you cause your Sneak Attack damage against a creature on an attack you had Advantage, you force the target to make a Constitution saving throw (DC 8 + your Dexterity modifier + your proficiency bonus). On a failure, the target is stunned until the end of your next turn.
The target have Disadvantage on the saving throw if the attack was a critical.
