Stub Logo.png This page is incomplete and/or lacking flavor. Reason: This fluff is extremely lacking. It may sound like filler, but it can help a person decide how a race fits into a world and interacts with it. Did this race of humanoid rats just appear from the ether? Would that not have scared some people into killing them at least?

Scales.png This page is of questionable balance. Reason: Burrowing speed is very very dangerous for PCs, same as flying speed. Burrowing speed will allow a player to essentially gain cover very easily, and it is not limited in any way here, in contrast to the rakaka or dao subrace of the genie race. Additionally, their speed and supposed size is strange, since if they were Small, having a speed as fast as 35 feet is weird. There could be more flavorful traits injected here.

Rät[edit]

Rät is pronounced Reht with a rolled r

Physical Description[edit]

Räts are look like humanoid rats. They're scrawny, with wiry, scraggly fur. Their large, beady eyes are very dark in color. Their fur color ranges from black to red to white in a variety of patterns. They don't have that much muscle mass and are often underweight.

History[edit]

Räts don't have much history, but once were in small tribes and communities, causing trouble for others in small raids and jokes. Räts have always been troublemakers, and aren't included much in history and stories, as they didn't do too much during that time. They don't have much stories or songs to tell later generations, other than achievements of the community leader.

Society[edit]

Räts often live in large cities. They're often found in alleyways or living modestly in any inn that allows them in. They don't have a larger society, or any history of Rät kingdoms. There are small groups and communities of Rät criminals in cities, sometimes even cells throughout a city or occasionally across multiple cities. Community leaders are decided by who is the tallest. Räts are cunning, with quick thinking skills, and are good at persuasion and deception, and are often quite fast. They often are Urchins. Ones that are good often assist others, to help survive as a community. Communities often have secret meetings, ceremonies, and other things underground in large burrows large enough for even the tallest Räts.

Rät Names[edit]

Räts are named at birth by the parent, often the names are inspired by what the parent believes the child is to grow up to be, or what they will do. In a community, the baby is named by the leader in a certain ceremony. It is not known what this ceremony consists of. If asked to present themselves as a group, a community will use the communities name.
