These pterosaurs are one of the creepiest parts of the Chuult ecosystem, they are practically harmless, feeding on small crustaceans in the water. Oddly enough, this is what leads to the pinkish hue of these pterosaurs, much like flamingos, who feed on a similar diet. Pterodaustro is a nocturnal pterosaur, gliding silently through the night sky, unless it unleashes its haunting call, which sounds like a goose, but really depressed. The natives used to believe that the pterodaustros were vessels through which the dead spoke to their relatives, the haunting calls were the cries of spirits in the afterlife.
