Pseudo-tarrasques are terrifying dragons that are almost identical in appearance to the legendary tarrasque. Intelligent Glutton. Unlike most other dragons, the pseudo-tarrasques have little interest in treasure, and instead have an immense love for food, and may even spare a village in return for a large feast. On rare occasions, if the food is of high enough quality and a constant supply is ensured, the dragon may even serve as a guardian (although it will just as soon eat the inhabitants if the supply of food shrinks or the quality drops). However, most pseudo-tarrasques have a hoard of treasure to serve as bait for new prey. The pseudo-tarrasques' obsession with food can serve as a weakness, as particularly clever adventurers have managed to escape while the pseudo-tarrasque was out to find a side dish. Beam of Destruction. The most notable feature of the pseudo-tarrasque is its breath weapon, a cone of solid light that obliterates most things instantly. The sound of a loud unnatural roaring and a bright white flash is the last sight of many overzealous dragon slayers. |
