Proto-Dragon (5e Race)
From D&D Wiki
Proto-Dragon[edit]
Proto-dragons descend from both the majestic dragons and the respectful goliath. This mixed heritage grants them great strength, but also sense of humility that keeps many Proto-dragons from abusing their power.
Physical Description[edit]
Proto-dragons are humanoid creatures of prominent stature, and despite possessing the lineage of dragons, they lack the ability to fly or breathe an element. However, proto-dragons possess a surprising strength and resistance, coming mainly from the scales that develop throughout their life. Proto-dragons usually have dry and long hair, although some even never develop it as a result of their scales.
History[edit]
Proto-dragons are the result of a romance between a goliath and a dragon. They tend to be treated normally by society although some suffer discrimination due to their strange heritage. Most proto-dragons enjoy the company of people and give little importance to race, usually interacting with all types of people. Proto-dragons usually live in both towns and cities, and they often abandon their place of birth if they have not formed bonds strong enough to establish themselves permanently. Many people fear or admire proto-dragons because they usually act for the benefit of people over their own objectives.
Society[edit]
Proto-dragons don't typically make their own societies, as most choose to integrate into existing multiracial settlements. However, some choose to live high in the mountains, as their goliath ancestors did. These proto-dragons typically enjoy the company of outsiders, often going out of their way to rescue those suffering from the perils of high altitudes.
