Primitive[edit]

Primitives are hunter-gathers who exist outside of civilization, dwelling in all environments and terrains. Their lifestyle is simple and nomadic. Males hunt for game. Women gather food. They move frequently about their territory, going where game and food is more readily available.

Class Skills (4+Int modifier per level; ×4 at 1st level)
The primitive's class skills (and the key ability for each skill) are Balance (Dex), Climb (Str), Craft (non-metal crafts)(Int), Handle Animal (Cha), Hide (Dex), Intimidate (Cha), Jump (Str), Listen (Wis), Move Silently (Dex), Ride (Dex), and Spot (Wis), Swim (Str), and Survival (Wis).

Class Features[edit]

The following is a class feature of the primitive NPC class.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: The primitive is proficient in the use of all simple weapons, light armor, and shields. They usually use stone-tipped weapon. Primitives are not literate.

Most primitives choose tracking as their first level feat. Those who ride mounts often usually choose mounted combat. Those who live in hot climates may choose Exotic Weapon (blowdart) and may safely use their native poisons with this weapon. (These native poisons are slow acting, often taking days to down an animal.) Those who live in particularly difficult environments usually choose Skill Focus (Survival).

Most primitives focus their skills on Hide, Move Silently, Spot, and Survival.

The divine spellcasters among primitives are usually Witch Doctor.
