Possessed by Akaron[edit]

Prerequisite

The creature is not a construct or undead.

Statistics[edit]

Abilities. If the creature's Constitution score is below 16, add 6 to it (maximum 16). If the creature's strength is below 14, add 4 to it (maximum 14). If the creature's AC is less than 17, add 2 to it.

Damage Vulnerabilities. The creature gains vulnerability to thunder damage.

Condition Immunities. The creature becomes immune to being charmed or frightened.

Languages The creature can understand all languages. If it can speak or write, it can also do so with all languages.

Skills The creature becomes proficient in Strength (Athletics) skill checks.

Alignment The creature becomes Chaotic Evil.

Traits[edit]

If the creature doesn't already have darkvision, it gains darkvision out to 60 ft. Also, magical darkness no longer impedes the creature's darkvision.

If the creature gains the Dark Tendril attack and/or Pull In action, it also gains Pain Threshold.

Pain Threshold If the creature takes (10+CRx2) or more damage from a single attack, it immediately lets go of any creature it is grappling with Dark Tendril.

Actions[edit]

If the creature has a natural weapon attack (Such as scratch, gore, slam, etc.), change the attack to Tentacles, its reach becomes 10 ft. (Unless it is already 10+ ft.), and any abilities (such as dive or charge) still work with it. Also, the damage type is changed to bludgeoning.

If the creature is medium or larger, it gains the Dark Tendril aattack. Dark Tendril Melee Weapon Attack +(Strength+proficiency) to hit, reach 20 ft., one target. Hit: 1d8+Strength bludgeoning damage. On Hit: Make a grapple check against the target. Only one creature may be grappled like this at a time. The grappling creature can take actions as though it were not grappling a creature as long as it stays within 20 ft. of the grappled creature, but it cannot take a move action.

If the creature is large or larger, it gains the Pull In action. Pull In The creature pulls a creature it has grappled with the Dark Tendril attack 10 ft. closer to it. If this pulls the creature into its space, the grappled creature is now restrained. The restrained creature can use its action to make a DC 15 Strength (Athletics) check to escape. Additionally, any other creature can do the same to try and pull out the restrained creature.

CR Calculation[edit]

Effective HP is changed by however much the creature's Constitution modifier was increased, the same is true for it's per round damage with Strength. It's effective AC is +2.
