Plated Chainmail

A Chainmail hauberk with steel plates attached to protect vital areas. While it does not provide any more encumbrance than a regular suit of chain mail, it is noticably heavier. Regular suits of Chainmail armor can be converted into Plated Chainmail by paying 25 gp for the cost of the steel plates and the regular cost for an armorsmith to attach the plates.
