Pistolero[edit]

A Pisolero is a variant on the Gunslinger.

Requirements[edit]

To qualify to become a Pistolero, a character must fulfill the following criteria.

Base Attack Bonus: +2.

Skills: Sleight of Hand 6 ranks, Tumble 6 ranks.

Feat: Personal Firearms Proficiency.

Class Information[edit]

Hit Die: 1d8

Action Points: 6 + one-half character level, rounded down, every time the gunslinger attains a new level in this class.

Class Skills[edit]

The Pistolero’s class skills (and the key ability for each skill) are: Bluff (Cha), Demolitions (Int), Drive (Dex), Escape Artist (Dex), Gamble (Wis), Intimidate (Cha), Knowledge (current events, popular culture, streetwise) (Int), Move Silently (Dex), Profession (Wis), Read/Write Language (none), Ride (Dex), Sleight of Hand (Dex), Speak Language (none), Spot (Wis), Survival (Wis), Tumble (Dex).

Skill Points at Each Level: 5 + Int modifier.

Class Features[edit]

The following features pertain to the Pistolero advanced class.

Defensive Position[edit]

Starting at 1st level, the Gunslinger gains an additional +2 cover bonus to Defense and an additional +2 cover bonus on Reflex saves whenever he or she has one-quarter, one-half, three-quarters, or nine-tenths cover.

Pistolero[edit]

Starting at 2nd level, the Pistolero increases damage he deals while using handguns. If he's attacking with a single pistol or revolver, he deal +2 damage with it; if he's attacking with a pair of pistols or revolvers, he deals +1 damage per weapon.

At 8th level, the damage bonuses double.

Bonus Feats[edit]

At 3rd, 6th, and 9th level, the Pistolero gets a bonus feat. The bonus feat must be selected from the following list, and the Gunslinger must meet all the prerequisites of the feat to select it.

Advanced Firearms Proficiency, Advanced Two-Weapon Fighting, Burst Fire, Dead Aim, Double Tap, Far Shot, Improved Two-Weapon Fighting, Precise Shot, Quick Draw, Quick Reload, Shot on the Run, Skip Shot, Strafe, Two-Weapon Fighting.

Close Combat Shot[edit]

At 4th level, a Pistolero gains the ability to make a ranged attack with a Medium-size or smaller firearm while in a threatened area without provoking an attack of opportunity.

Improved Critical[edit]

Choose one pistol or revolver for which have the Weapon Focus feat. You increase the threat range by one.

Sharp-Shooting[edit]

At 7th level, if the Pistolero uses a personal firearm to attack a target, the cover bonus to the target’s Defense for one-quarter, one-half, three-quarters, or nine-tenths cover is reduced by 2.

Bullseye[edit]

At 10th level, a Pistolero becomes so adept at using the firearm to which he or she has applied Improved Critical that the his attacks with that firearm within 30 feet can deal extra damage. To activate the ability, the Pistolero must spend an action point and then make an attack roll. If the Pistolero successfully hits their foe, they deal +2d6 points of damage.
