Pistolero (5e Subclass)
Pistolero[edit]
Fighter Subclass
The Pistolero is a Fighter subclass that specializes in the use of one-handed firearms for precision and style on the battlefield.
- Quick Hands
At 3rd level, you gain proficiency with the Sleight of Hand skill. If you are already proficient with it, you gain twice your proficiency bonus in checks with this skill.
In addition, you can use a Bonus Action to take the Sleight of Hand or the Use an Object action.
- Way of the Pistolero
At 3rd level, you have an adaptable fighting style, enabling you to constantly surprise your enemies during combat. You gain a number of Style Points equal to your Dexterity modifier (minimum 1).
You regain these points on a long rest. Additionally, whenever you reduce a creature to 0 hit points or score a critical hit with a pistol, you regain 1 style point.
As a bonus action on your turn, you can execute one of the following styles:
- Bullseye. While in this style, your next attack you made before the turn ends deal extra damage equal to your Fighter level. You can spend 1 style point to have Advantage on an attack roll while using this style.
- Trickster. Your movement speed increases by 10 feet, and your movement does not provoke opportunity attacks. These benefits last until the start of your next turn. You can spend 1 style point to Hide or Dash while in this style.
- Acrobat. You have advantage on Dexterity checks and saving throws until the start of your next turn. You can spend 1 style point to gain the benefits of the Dodge action while using this style.
- Quick Draw
At 7th level, your quick finger trigger is unmatched. After rolling initiative but before the first turn of combat, you can choose to swap places in the initiative order with one hostile you can see that rolled higher than you.
In addition, when you roll initiative, you can draw a one handed firearm without taking an action.
- Dual Wielder
Starting at 10th level, you gain proficiency with one handed firearms. In addition, whenever you use an Action and make an attack with a one handed firearm, you can make another attack with a one handed firearm as a Bonus Action.
- Follow Up
Starting at 15th level, you gain the ability to follow up on your attacks. When dual wielding pistols, if you successfully hit a target with an attack, you may make a Sleight of Hand check against the target's Armor Class. If the check succeeds, you deal an additional damage die by spending one piece of ammunition of your other firearm.
This additional damage die is doubled on a critical hit. This feature may be used once per Attack action.
- Style Mastery
At 18th level, your mastery over chance encompasses even your own form, allowing you to exist between potential realities.
As a bonus action on your turn, you gain the following benefits:
- You regain all style points.
- Your movement speed is doubled.
- You gain the benefits of all three styles at once at the start of each turn.
Once you use this feature, you cannot use it again until you complete a long rest.
