Path of the Phoenix, Variant (5e Subclass)
From D&D Wiki
Path of the Phoenix[edit]
Barbarian Path
Barbarians who follow the path of the phoenix have a burning unyielding rage that stole the fire within them. Blazing hot enough to keep fighting long through the toughest battles, and able to reignite their hearts in the darkest of times
Observation: This is a variation of the path of the Phoenix homebrew subclass on here
- Ignite
At 3rd level, Fire damage you deal ignores resistances. At level 9 fire damage you deal ignores immunities. The extra damage from your rage becomes fire damage
- Mantle of Flame
Starting at 3rd level, you can unleash the phoenix fire that blazes within you.
When you are raging, you magically wreathe yourself in swirling fire, as your eyes glow like hot coals. For the duration, you gain the following additional benefits:
- You shed bright light in a 30-foot radius and dim light for an additional 30 feet.
- Any creature takes fire damage equal to your Constitution modifier if it hits you with a melee attack from within 5 feet of you.
- Once per turn when you hit a creature with a melee weapon attack, you cause additional fire damage equal to your Constitution modifier.
- Phoenix Spark
Starting at 6th level, the fiery energy within you grows restless and vengeful. In the face of defeat, it surges outward to preserve you in a fiery roar.
If you are reduced to 0 hit points, you can use your reaction to draw on the spark of the phoenix. You heal a number of hit points equal to your Constitution mod x5, and each enemy within 10 feet of you takes fire damage equal to your barbarian level + your Constitution modifier.
Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest. You regain one use of this feature whenever you succeed on your Constitution saving throw for your Relentless Rage feature.
- Nourishing Fire
Starting at 10th level, your flames soothe and restore you and allies. When you enter in Rage, you and allies within 10 feet of you, regain hit points equal to your proficiency bonus + your Constitution modifier.
- Form of the Phoenix
At 14th level, you finally master the spark of fire that dances within you. While raging, you gain additional benefits:
- You have a flying speed of 40 feet and can hover.
- You have resistance to all damage types.
- If you use your Phoenix Spark, that feature deals an extra 20 fire damage to each enemy
