Path of the Chicken[edit]
Barbarian Subclass
You have chosen to live by the teachings of the mighty Chicken God, seeking vengeance for your ancestors and embodying the chaotic might of your divine avian lineage.
- Armed Trickster
At 3rd level, you gain proficiency in Deception and Intimidation. If you are already proficient in either of these skills, you gain expertise instead.
Additionally, when you enter your rage, you grow bird-like claws on your hands and a beak on your face, granting you natural weapons for unarmed strikes, with which you are proficient. Your claws deal 1d6 + your Strength modifier slashing damage, while your beak deals 1d4 + your Strength modifier piercing damage. If you hit with your claws as an action, you can make an attack with your beak as a bonus action.
- Scream of Reversed Revenge
At 3rd level, as soon a you end a short or a long rest, you can use your reaction to scream like a rooster. This scream wakes all creatures within 60 feet that can hear you, even those affected by the Sleep spell. You can also use this reaction if you are surprised or if a creature within 10 feet of you is surprised, regardless of the rules of surprise. All surprised allies are no longer surprised, and all enemies within range must make a Wisdom saving throw (DC 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Charisma modifier). On a failed save, the creature becomes frightened until the end of their turn.
You can't use this feature once, being able to use it again after a short or long rest.
- Even a Blind Chicken Finds a Grain
At 6th level, if you roll a natural 1 on an attack roll, you can reroll the attack and must use the new result. In addition, you gain blindsight with a range of 10 feet.
- Partial Growth of Feathers
At 10th level, you grow feathers on your arms, legs, and neck. Once per short or long rest, you can glide for 10 minutes. For every foot you fall, you can move 5 feet horizontally without using your movement. While this feature is active, you can use your reaction to reduce fall damage to 0. If you fall while grappling a creature, or are grappled by a falling creature, you can only reduce the fall damage of both creatures by half.
Your feathers can also be used as a weapon. Your feathers are considered simple ranged weapons with the thrown (20/40), finesse and light properties, and cause 1d6 damage on a hit. While raging, you can unleash all your feathers at once. All creatures within 10 feet must make a Dexterity saving throw (DC 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Dexterity modifier). On a failed save, a creature takes 1d6 + your Strength modifier piercing damage. On a successful save, the damage is halved.
After using this feature, you cannot take any action or reaction using your feathers until you finish a short rest. You must also complete a long rest to regain the ability to unleash all your feathers at once.
- Angry Family
At 14th level, when you take damage from an attack, you can use your reaction to summon a ghostly chicken to counter that attack. The chicken flies towards an attacker who is within 30 feet, and the attacker must make a Dexterity saving throw (DC 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Dexterity modifier), or takes 1d8 + your Constitution modifier piercing damage. The damage dealt by these chickens, your feathers, and your unarmed strikes becomes magical for the purpose of overcoming resistances and immunities to non-magical damage.
