Path of the Blighted[edit]
Barbarian
The "Path of the Blighted" is a dark and formidable Barbarian subclass that delves into the realms of possession and curses inflicted by abominable creatures like aberrations, undead, fey, celestial, and friends. Embracing this path unleashes a primal fury intertwined with the corruptive energies of the cursed beings. As a Blighted Barbarian, you become an embodiment of their malevolence, channeling their sinister powers to devastating effect. Your body and spirit endure both physical and metaphysical transformations, enhancing your already formidable combat prowess. With each swing of your weapon, your strikes resonate with the otherworldly force that has possessed you, and your adversaries cower before the sheer terror emanating from your blighted form. Through this subclass, you tread a precarious path, balancing between embracing the cursed powers and preserving your own humanity amidst the darkness.

Possessed[edit]
Starting at 3rd level, you are possessed by an entity within your body. This entity does not control you and must aberration, undead, fey, celestial, or fiend. You gain proficiency in the skill shown on your Possession table based on the entity possessing you. Your proficiency bonus is doubled for any ability check you make that uses this skill proficiency.
Blight Unleash[edit]
Starting when you choose this path at 3rd level, your connection to the possessing entity comes to the surface, granting you unparalleled resistance. Your features change to match whichever entity you chose when you took this subclass. When you go into a rage you gain resistance to the corresponding damage type shown in your Possession table. Also, you may choose one of the following when you start your rage:
- Aura of Rage - Creatures within a 15-foot radius of where you begin your rage must make a Constitution saving throw (DC = 11 + proficiency bonus) or be afflicted by an effect in your Possession table until the end of their next turn.
- Obsession - You choose one creature within a 30-foot radius of where you begin your rage, that creature must make a Constitution saving throw (DC = 11 + proficiency bonus) or be afflicted by the effect shown in your Possession table. The creature may make the saving throw again at the end of each of its turns to try an end the effect.
Blighted Form[edit]
Starting at 6th level, your connection to the possessing entity manifests in an enhanced form while you rage, allowing you to tap into its destructive energies. When you enter a rage, your Blighted Form undergoes a terrifying transformation, reflecting the essence of the possessing entity from your Possession Table.
While in Blighted Form, you gain the following benefits:
- Your physical appearance morphs to embody the features of the possessing entity, exuding an aura of darkness, fiendish energy, celestial radiance, or otherworldly beauty.
- Your melee weapon attacks deal an additional 1d8 damage of a type specified by your Possession Table.
- When you hit a melee attack against a target, that target must make a Constitution saving throw (DC = 11 + proficiency bonus) or be afflicted by the effect shown in your Possession table. The creature may make the saving throw again at the end of each of its turns to try an end the effect.
When you reach 14th level, while you are raging, you gain an addition movement speed options based on the Movement column in your Possession table.
Tainted Resistance[edit]
Starting at 10th level, your resistance to the damage types associated with the possessing entity becomes even more potent. While raging, you have advantage on saving throws against effects that would impose the corresponding damage types from your Possession Table. Additionally, when you take damage of this type and are in a rage, gain temporary hit points equal to half the amount you take rounded up.
Additionally, you have advantage on ability checks in the skill specified in your Possession table.
Domain of the Blighted[edit]
Starting at 14th level, when you hit a creature with an attack and are in a rage, you can use this feature to mentally pull the target to the realm of your entity. The target makes a Charisma saving throw (DC = 13 + proficiency bonus) and on a failed save they lose consciousness and lose all perception of the outside world. On a successful save, nothing happens to the target, but this ability is not consumed.
As the target confronts your inner entity, if it doesn't share a creature type with it, it takes 10d10 damage, as specified on the Possession table, as it reels from its horrific experience. If this damage kills the target, you heal equal to half the damage dealt with this ability. At the end of your turn, the target regains consciousness.
Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.
