Path of the Beast Monarch (5e Subclass)
From D&D Wiki
Path of the Beast Monarch[edit]
Barbarian Path
You are a monarch, a member of an ancient race devoted to extinguish humanity. Monarchs are kings of certain aspects of reality, and, as a beast monarch, you have domain over animals and beasts. A barbarian who follow the path of the beast monarch path is not actually the monarch itself, but it's humanoid vessel, which can hold more and more of the monarch's energy as you grow in power.
- King of Beasts
At 3rd level when you adopt this path, you gain the ability to cast the Speak with Animals spells, but only as ritual.
You also can cast Animal Friendship once, without spending spell slots, and can't do it again until you finish a long rest. You regain the use of this feature after you finish a rage.
- Bestial Rage
Starting at 3rd level, your strength, durability and speed increase to the extent of a predator. You gain the ability to use your unarmed strikes while raging. You roll a d6 for your unarmed strikes, and you can choose to deal either slashing, piercing or bludgeoning damage with them. This increases to 1d8 at 6th level, 1d10 at 10th level and 1d12 at 14th level.
In addition, when you enter in rage and as a bonus action in each subsequent turn, you can take the Dash action or make an additional unarmed strike.
- Fast Regeneration
At 6th level, while you are raging, you can use your bonus action to roll a hit die, and regain hit points as if you had completed a short rest.
- Rending Strikes
At 6th level, your unarmed strikes ignore resistances and immunity to non-magical damage.
- Telekinesis
Starting at 10th level, while you enter in rage, you can use your Action to cast the Telekinesis spell, requiring no components, and your spellcasting ability for the spell is Constitution.
Your rage doesn't prevent you from concentrating on it, but losing concentration on Telekinesis also ends your rage. Once you cast the spell with this feature, you can't do so again until you finish a long rest.
- Spiritual Body Manifestation
When you reach the 14th level, you can assume the form of a giant humanoid/beast hybrid when you enter in rage, or during a rage, using a bonus action. You can increase your size by one category – from Medium to Large, for example. This increase lasts for 1 minute. It ends early if you die or are incapacitated. Until it ends, you gain the following benefits:
- Your current hit points and your hit point maximum both increase by 1 per barbarian level.
- Your reach increases by 5 feet.
- Your walking speed increases by 5 feet.
- You have advantage on Dexterity checks and Dexterity saving throws.
- You gain a bonus to the damage rolls of your melee weapon attacks; the bonus equals your Constitution modifier (minimum of +1).
Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
