Path of the Badass[edit]

Barbarian Subclass

A Badass is someone who was pushed too far. Whether he be the fallen hero or the villain that fell too many times, his pride is gone and that fills him with the power of vengeance.

Characters can't "try" to become a badass, and they can't be taught to become one. Being a Badass is something you're born with, something dormant inside you that awakens.

This is an adaptation from a 3.5e homebrew. For the 3.5e version, look at [1]

Forged By Pain

When faced with a battle the involves the bad ass's purpose for becoming a badass, or even overwhelming odds altogether, the bad ass's power awakens. While raging, all your Ability Scores increase by an amount equal to your Rage Damage Bonus. This can increase the ability scores above the maximum.

Damage Reduction

At 6th level, a Bad-ass's body refuses to be affected by damage. When you take damage of any nature, you can use your reaction to reduce the damage to half.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and regain your uses of it after finishing a long rest.

Return of the Fallen

At 10th level, a Bad-ass's will vanquish death. you, and when he dies his soul cannot be destroyed, and he can always be brought back to life. When you die, you return to life after 1 minute, with 1 hit point, as long as your body haven't been destroyed.

Body parts missing aren't restored, and this doesn't work for death due to aging.

Scars of the Fallen

At 14th level, A Badass no longer fears death. You are immune to effects that cause instant death, hit point maximum reduction and ability score reduction.

In addition, you no longer are knocked unconscious when reduced to 0 hit points. The other effects of being at 0 hit points apply normally.
