Warlock Pact Boon: Pact of the Shield[edit]
Pact of the Shield, Warlock Pact Boon
After a 1-hour ritual, you may summon a shield of your patron or enchant a shield you own. If you summon a new shield or enchant a new shield the previous shield returns to your patron or is no longer enchanted. If you enchant a shield that is magic, it retains the benefits. Your enchanted shield can be used as an Arcane Focus.
You are considered proficient in the shield you summon or enchant. Its AC bonus can be replaced with your Charisma Modifier. The enchanted shield can be used as a weapon, make a melee spell attack roll for the shield, it deals 1d4+chr bludgeoning damage, and it can be thrown with a range of 30 feet.
As a bonus action, you can teleport your enchanted shield back to you as long as it is within a mile of your location. If it is in a creature’s possession, it must make a strength saving throw against your spell save DC, on a success the teleportation of the shield is cancelled. On a failure the creature loses possession of your shield, and it returns to you.
Eldritch Invocations
Eldritch Frisbee, Prerequisites: Pact of the Shield
Before you use one of your attacks to throw your shield, roll a 1d4. The shield can bounce between opponents within 15 feet of each other up to the amount rolled. You make an attack roll for each target, the attacks must chain together or the attack fails.
If the shield was thrown during the attack action and you miss the first attack roll, you may have the shield return to you in the same attack. After throwing the shield and landing a successful hit you may have the shield return to you in the same attack.
Shoving Might, Prerequisites: Pact of the Shield
After taking the attack action, you may as a bonus action make one attack with the shield. You may also use a bonus action to shove a creature with the shield, making a DC save to either your strength or spell casting DC. The shield’s damage die increases to 1d6.
Shield of Hell, Prerequisites: Pact of the Shield, 7th level
If an opponent misses a melee attack on you and is within 5ft, you may spend your reaction to cast Hellish Rebuke on them. Whenever you cast Hellish Rebuke, you may add your charisma modifier to the damage roll.
